The BWWC

The Birdwatching and Wildlife Club

Millions of people now enjoy bird and wildlife watching. For some it’s a consuming passion. For others it is just an excuse for a good walk.

The Bird Watching & Wildlife Club, based at the Grant Arms Hotel, exists for anyone interested in wildlife, from beginners to dedicated birdwatchers.

The BWWC is all about Guests choosing what they want. For those who want to go off each day by themselves the BWWC Team will tell them what's around, where to go and the best time to see it. For those who want escorted trips the Team can provide advice on the many and varied trips available. The BWWC's Club Room, Library, Walks, Talks and Briefings are free to all Grant Arms Hotel Guests.

On arrival Guests will find the Club's monthly newspaper "The Watcher" in their bedroom together with maps, guides and wildlife magazines.

All Hotel Guests are welcome to use the Club's facilities which include our Lecture Theatre (the Osprey Suite), Club Room and Natural History Library. The BWWC Team provides free guided walks, wildlife briefings and regular talks. Guided safaris/day trips and workshops can also be arranged (these are run by local operators at additional cost - please see the BWWC website for further details).

“...We had a good 3 hour walk in Anagach Wood: Goosander at the start on the Spey, Red Squirrels, Crested Tits, Redwing, Thrush, Goldcrests, lots of Treecreepers...On our way to Loch-an-Eilein good sighting of Dipper from the bridge. Did not see Pine Martens but good sightings of Red Deer and a single Badger. Thanks again for all your advice and guidance during our stay, the concept is really good. We will be back.”
