Winter Wildlife Watch

We would like to invite you to join us for a Winter Wildlife Watch with the Bird Watching and Wildlife Club at the Grant Arms Hotel.

This Break includes four nights en-suite accommodation with Breakfast and Dinner each day.  The Winter Wildlife Watch Break aims to let you experience the winter wildlife of the Cairngorms National Park and surrounding area.  Seasonal walks and events are included and the BWWC Team will be on hand to suggest some great wildlife watching day trips. 

The price for this Break is £195.00 per person (with no single supplement).

SAMPLE ITINERARY:

Friday 5th November
Arrive at leisure from 2.00pm onwards and settle into the Hotel getting to know your surroundings, take a stroll through Grantown-on-Spey or simply relax in the Hotel Lounge.

Enjoy a Welcome Wildlife Briefing from the BWWC Team, followed by Dinner in the Restaurant.

After Dinner there will be a talk about the local winter wildlife in the Osprey Suite. 

Saturday 6th November
Enjoy a full Scottish Breakfast in the Restaurant.

The BWWC Team will be heading up to Cairngorm Mountain today.  Join us there for a short walk and to look for wildlife.  Afterwards you might like to take a trip in the funicular railway (extra cost involved) to enjoy the scenery from the top.

A Wildlife Briefing will take place before Dinner is served in the Restaurant.  After Dinner there will be a special BWWC Winter Quiz in the Capercaillie Bar.


Sunday 7th November
Enjoy a full Scottish Breakfast in the Restaurant.

After breakfast, join the BWWC Team for a walk up to Grantown Viewpoint to admire the mountain views.  The rest of the day is free for you to explore the local area.  You could explore Glenmore Forest looking for Crested Tit and Crossbill, or head to Findhorn Bay to see Waders and Seaduck.

There will be a Wildlife Briefing before Dinner is served in the Restaurant.  After Dinner you can relax in front of a film in the Osprey Suite or enjoy a drink in the Capercaillie Bar.


Monday 8th November
Enjoy a full Scottish Breakfast in the Restaurant.

After breakfast you can join the BWWC Team for a walk in Anagach Woods in search of wildlife.  Then you could visit one of the many wildlife watching sites nearby: you could try spotting Whooper Swan and Hen Harrier at RSPB Insh Marshes or looking for Mountain Hare on the Glenlivet Estate.

After a Wildlife Briefing, Dinner will be served in the Restaurant.  A film will be screened in the Osprey Suite after Dinner.

Tuesday 9th November
Enjoy a full Scottish Breakfast in the Restaurant before your departure.
